The Carmel English School, Nanjangud, started in the year 1968 and was granted permanent recognition in year 1978 by the Govt. Karnataka . It was blessed and inaugurated by the Bishop Mathias Fernandes of Mysore, The school started with 20 students and started growing. Now the strength from standard first to tenth has reached to 1,350.
In the year 1996 High School for girls was started and continued to be Girls High School till 2015. Many parents and our ex-student boys appealed to us to admit the boys in the school, as the boys had no good High School.
