    "United we stand, India we cherish" . On the 15th August 2025, we celebrated 79th Independence day at Carmel English School, Nanjangud. This year the celebration was under the banner " Salute the past , shape the future " . The entire campus was decorated with tricolor flags and posters reflecting the pride of our nation. The chief guest Mr Ravindra, Circle Inspector of Nanjangud town Police station accompanied by our respected Joint Secretary Sr Aruna Maria AC,our beloved Headmistress Sr Dorin Jacques AC and Sr Martel Vice Principal of Carmel composite PU college were warmly escorted towards the dias with great honour by the school band set the rhythm with their melodious march past. The programme began with a solemn prayer service invoking blessings for our country led by the students of class 6th 'A' , thanking God for the gift of freedom and seeking peace for our country. Prayers were offered for the leaders, soldiers, citizens and to the Youth of India with the response "Lord , hear our prayer." The tricolor was unfurled by our Chief guest followed by the singing of the National song Vande Matharam which filled every heart with pride. Chief guest delivered his speech and spoke about the sacrifices of our great leaders and encouraged children to appreciate and value the freedom .He also reminded us to respect our soldiers and be a responsible citizen. As a part of celebration, all the dignitaries paid tribute to the great leaders of our nation. They offered flowers to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhiji and Dr B R Ambedkar honoring their immense contribution. The floral offering was a mark of respect and gratitude to follow their ideals. The cultural extravaganza started with a patriotic song followed by a series of mesmerizing dances. The choir sang with enthusiasm that inspired everyone to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and motivated the students to uphold the value of unity and brotherhood. A patriotic speech was delivered by one of the students. The speech highlighted the importance of freedom and pay tribute to the great leaders who sacrificed their lives for our motherland. The culminating act was by our enthusiastic dancers who set the stage on fire with their energetic performance which titled 'Operation Sindhur' .The act highlighted the courage of our Indian armed force by using colorful props, banners, military props and banners of our Prime minister and soldiers. The dance created a sense of pride and respect for the armed forces leaving the audience deeply patriotic . The memory of the special day is etched forever in the hearts of those who were present to witness it .The celebration came to a fitting conclusion with a vote of thanks and distribution of sweets to all. The National Anthem was sung which filled every heart with respect, gratitude and deep sense of patriotism towards our Motherland. After the school program, the students of class 8th showcased their talent and patriotism by performing a patriotic dance at the Junior college ground. With graceful movements and energetic expressions. they captivated the audience and highlighted the spirit of National pride . Their dedication and teamwork were truly commendable. Among several participating groups, our students stood out with their performance and were awarded first prize. The remarkable achievement brought great honor to our school. It was a memorable day leaving a lasting impression of pride and joy.
